Biography

I was born in 1979 in Tehran, where I also was received my education. After I received my high school diploma in economics, I went to university where I completed a bachelor’s degree in industrial management and master’s in business management.

However, my research background is in information technology, and I have completed some successful research in this field. One of my main research projects was “IT mechanisms for youth”, which received a national award in Iran for best IT research.

Parallel with this research, I had close participation with the United Nations in the Information Society panel, for example participating in both the 2003 and 2005 summits, which were important UN events with all country participation and about ten conferences between the two summits. I participated in five conferences while I was leading a nongovernmental organization for youth in Iran. It was an interesting experience to deal with international organizations in that golden age of my life.

In 2003, I created Iran ICT NGO for Youth to develop ICT among young people, to reduce the digital gap and building capacity for development through ICT. Simultaneously, I was working in the business environment in the telecoms industry before I came to the UK. Moreover, I travelled around the world to participate in international conferences from Africa to the United States with support from Iran ICT NGO and the Iranian government ministry of ICT. Furthermore, I made several business trips to West Africa from the Iranian Ministry of Agriculture.

Given the above background, now I am extending my researches to be higher level in PhD course in the UK, and I believe I need to do more to get a good stage in this subject. Currently, I am conducting research in the UK and running a small business- KIAN IT STUDIOS- which has an e-commerce and design purpose related to my research.

I also received full scholarship for my PhD in University of London.
